Cooltek UMX1 Compact Mini-ITX Aluminium Cases

This compact Mini-ITX case combines a steel chassis for maximum stability with an extravagant exterior designed in brushed aluminium. The design of the sleek aluminium casing is both elegant and functional.

The fine curves of the UMX1 Plus automatically draws attention to itself. A design highlight of the case is without a doubt, the peppy designed case foot. There is a 35mm high recess between the bottom of the chassis and the foot. One advantage of this is that the bottom-mounted SFX PSU can freely draw in cool air for optimum cooling. This contributes significantly to the extension of the life expectancy of the power supply.

Thanks to specially decoupled side panels, the UMX1 is also very quiet during operation. The side panels rest on a specially designed silicone pad, optimally absorbing any vibrations that may incur.

The compact case is designed to house a full-fledged PC with the smallest possible dimensions based around a Mini-ITX motherboard. Due to the compact size, the UMX1 offers no assembly areas for optical drives or expansion cards and thus follows the original Mini-ITX ethos. It is aimed at users who are looking for a very stylish PC for typical living room applications.

The main body of the UMX1 is made of high quality 0.8/1 mm thick SGCC steel and gives the case maximum stability. The outer shell consists of 2.0 mm thick aluminium panels that encase the steel body. The brushed aluminium is of the highest quality and gives the UMX1 an extremely attractive appearance.

The interior of the UMX1 offers a simple yet functional design. The UMX1 can be equipped with SFX power supplies and above the power supply, a Mini-ITX motherboard can be mounted. Despite the minimalist dimensions users can install CPU tower coolers with a maximum height of 130mm.

Ventilation

The ventilation system of the UMX1 is designed to minimise noise while ensuring the best possible cooling. A 120mm fan is pre-installed under the top cover which provides the exhaust’s warm air out of the top of the chassis. If required, an 80mm fan can be installed at the rear of the case to increase cooling. The floor of the case features dust filters to ensure that dust stays out. These filters can be easily removed and cleaned.

Finally, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 connectors are available at the front of the case as well as headphone and microphone sockets.
